Ikuko, a teacher at a part-time high school, is tied up by three men in the physical education club's equipment storage area in the basement. Her husband, Ichiro, works as a private tutor, but he continues to have an affair with her former student Toshiko. Ikuko was informed of her husband's affair by her student Inoue, and she was also told that she was one of the people Inoue had sex with. She was then invited to the basement of the school, where she was asked to listen to her concerns. Two of Inoue's friends are also waiting in the basement, but Ikuko is secretly planning something...

They are sort of the comedy and tragedy version of the same story and it is a mundanely spiritual story. Getting Stronger Every Day includes these boys' tales, but they are like mystical objects placed on the living reality of the man storyteller. In other parts of the movie actual mystical objects hover in peoples lives without a myth or story attached. I like to think about how these dimensions interact simply and can be enacted: real life / story / worldly / spirit / video / flat drawing."

During the ensuing trial, the lawyer resorts to dilatory tactics while the hearing is frequently interrupted by the girls breaking into incantation, temper tantrums or shivery fits ostensibly bearing on demonic possession. When the subject of the Manson killings is brought up, the most obnoxious of the defendants breaks in indignantly, claiming that Sharon Tate’s “execution” was justified as she posed dangers to the Satanic community.
