'Barnes: Poetry in Motion' tells the story of one of football's most iconic figures, John Barnes, starting from his arrival in England from Jamaica and then being recommended to Elton John's Watford by a cab driver who had seen him play for non-league Sudbury Court. At Liverpool, John would establish himself as one the greatest player in the club's history, winning the league championship and the Football Writers' Player of Year award in two of his first three seasons at the club. Off the field John found a home in Liverpool, forming an ever-stronger bond with the city in the aftermath of the Hillsborough.
