This film records the Japanese military's efforts to capture the Burma Road,one of the major supply lines to China, from the British beginning in December 1941. The film ends with the fall of Mandalay in May 1942.

On the 1st of February, 2021, Myanmar’s Military launched air strikes against the Karen minority group. The news reminds K of his time in Karyn State 4 years back. K thinks of General Neda who wanted to build a community for Karen refugees, Khun from Thailand and the village children who helped him. He promised to fight for peace when General Neda sang “Wonderful Tonight” for him. Reminded of his forgotten promise, K roams the street aimlessly. Still, time eats away at his memories.

Wandering, a Rohingya Story

Within a few months, the Kutupalong refugee camp has become the biggest in the world. Out of sight, 700,000 people of the Rohingya Muslim minority fled Myanmar in 2017 to escape genocide and seek asylum in Bangladesh. Prisoners of a major yet little publicized humanitarian crisis, Kalam, Mohammad, Montas and other exiles want to make their voice heard. Between poetry and nightmares, food distribution and soccer games, they testify to their daily realities and the ghosts of their past memories. Since the post-election period in 2010, the poor farm-less people from Malatto village group, Maubin district in Ayeyarwaddy region have been struggling hard for their living almost every year. This happens since there has been less and less land in the region where they can earn their living. Their rights to use natural resources in their local area has been limited. So, they face lots of difficulties in meeting their basic needs. When the stakeholders of the water and land areas in that region have got the right to open their hearts, we can hear the “Whisper from Malatto”.
